Rev. James Taylor, Sr. delivered a very powerful inspiring message. Following the service, the members assembled for a private torch lighting ceremony. At 4:00 p.m., chapter members and guests gathered for the unveiling and ribbon-cutting ceremony of the brick memorial as a culminating activity.
Mayor, Michael-Angelo James read the Proclamation declaring: "May 22, 2022 Delta Zeta Chapter Day" in recognition of 42 years of service in the community.
Ware County School Superintendent, Birt Smith; Center Elementary School Principal, Tyler Bennett; and Center Elementary School Assistant Principal, LaVar Garner gave inspiring words of appreciation to the chapter members for services rendered in the schools. The ceremony ended with cutting and serving of the delicious, beautifully decorated cake.
Donor certificates with a replica of the brick in a certificate holder labeled with the words "Thank You" were given to donors who purchased bricks to complete the brick memorial.
Following the ceremony, guests were able take pictures of the engraved bricks.
